While strolling the Champs Elysees, imagine finishing up at this king of luxe hotels, Le Crillon.
Located at the foot of the Champs Elysees, Le Crillon began life in 1758 as one of two adjacent buildings commissioned by King Louis XV. One stayed a government building (and is today used by the French Navy) while the other was turned into a luxury hotel enjoyed by the likes of Queen Marie Antoinette. To this day, Le Crillon is dedicated to providing the finer things in life. Lest one thinks this makes the hotel stuffy, it also offers such niceties as stuffed elephants (the “Crillon elephant” – modeled after a Baccarat elephant) for the little ones.
