Enjoy an ultimate visit to Cognac and beautiful Bordeaux. TGV rail direct from Paris to Bordeaux makes for a quick journey (not included in price). And the Cognac region is right next door. You'll visit 2 famous Cognac houses (can be adjusted to preference), have a local food tour in Bordeaux, visit the famed Cite du Vin wine museum, and enjoy gourmet meals. Let us know your Cognac house preference and, based on seasonal availability, we can arrange it.
Day 1 - Bordeaux
Train station pickup and transfer to your hotel. Settle in and enjoy a walk or a rest before heading to your pre-reserved dinner at one of Bordeaux's traditional tables.
Day 2 - Cognac
Private tour and tasting at such cellars as Remy Martin, Camus and Maison Naud. Discover the nuances of cognac's distillation and aging process with generous tastes. Gastronomic lunch in Cognac. Return and free evening to enjoy the lively atmosphere if the city.
Day 3 - Bordeaux "Gourmand"
Private tour of Bordeaux, a French city with the most preserved historical buildings besides Paris. With wine-making going back to the 8th century, the city is a natural hub for the wine business. Nothing is made for food more than wine, so you'll appreciate a food tour focusing on distinct local products. Specialty cannelles and macarons are renowned, as are caviar, oysters, cepe (earthy mushrooms) and beef (a red wine natural). You won't go hungry and offerings are seasonal.
Day 4 - Bordeaux
For this last day, visit the Cité du Vin, the huge wine museum. Tastings, food pairings, the history of wine. It is all here. Finish your visit with a walk in the heart of the famous Chartrons district or along the Garonne quays before your transfer to the airport or train station.
A word about hotels. As a thriving wine destination, hotels in Bordeaux are a cut above. We work with the wonderful Hôtel de Seze, Le Boutique Hôtel Bordeaux, Hôtel Bordeaux Bayonne Etxeona and Hôtel de Tourny, all 4 star. 5 star available upon request. If traveling in September and October, harvest season, we recommend you book by June to assure you get your chosen Cognac tastes and preferred hotel.
