About the Train to the Loire Valley from Paris

The TGV train makes a day trip to the Loire Valley from Paris an easy choice, offering a perfectly-timed fast and clean train. You’ll depart just after 7:30 a.m. from centrally-located Gare Montparnasse (“gare” is station in French), about 15 minutes south of the Eiffel Tower on the Left Bank. On the plus side, several metro lines feed in under the main station, but you might find yourself taking a lot of stairs and tunnels up to daylight. Factor that in or take a cab, says the Linkparis team. The return train will get you in for a not-too-late dinner. The Montparnasse area happens to have a couple of stellar crepe restaurants.
