Côte de Nuits - Burgundy Wine Tour

Tour runs every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday

With its twenty-two Grand Crus vineyards, Côte de Nuits has been called the “Champs-Elysées” of Burgundy.

Chateau VougeotStart the day with a guided tour of the chateau of Vougeot. Dating to the year 1098, Clos de Vougeot covers over 120 acres of prime Burgundy land; its Grand Cru is one of the region's best wines.  Lunch on your own in charming Gevrey-Chambertin.  After lunch, we will also stop at the legendary Romanée-Conti vineyard, to have a peek at its 4 acres. Consistently one of the highest quality, and most expensive, wines produced in Burgundy each year.

You last stop will be at a vineyard around Nuits-Saint-Georges for a tasting and tour with a small local producer.

Drop-off in Beaune in time for the evening train back to Paris, or overnight in town.

Côte de Beaune - Burgundy Wine Tour

Tour runs every Wednesday and Friday

Côte de Beaune is famous for pinot noir,  as in Pommard and Volnay, and chardonnay, as in the Grands crus Montrachet, and Chevalier-Montrachet.  The story of Burgundy and Beaune is the story of the rich and powerful Dukes of Burgundy, visionaries of wine cultivation and promotion.

Hospices de BeauneAfter a scenic drive through the beautiful villages of Pommard, Volnay, and Château de Rochepot you'll experience a guided tour and tasting at a local vineyard in Meursault.  Lunch is at leisure near Meursault.  After lunch, you'll tour the Hospices de Beaune. Built in 1443 as a hospital for the poor, it is one of the best examples of fifteenth-century architecture in France.

The day finishes with a small producer tasting, taking you from vine to finished product, with the producer himself, who guides your tasting.

Drop-off in Beaune in time for the evening train back to Paris, or overnight in town.

Laura G. LinkParis.comWhy we love Burgundy - So close to Paris by high speed rail, Burgundy is such a different world.  Cobblestones, meticulously made stone houses, pitched roofs and timbered walls.  And wow on the food and wine.  Read my full article on our trip to Burgundy. - Laura
