Champagne

Champagne means one thing: celebrate! It is more than the wine of kings, it is a special quaff of bubbles and magic.

Champagne-Ardenne is a must-see destination for the fine wine enthusiast who also enjoys beautiful countryside. The region features forests, brilliantly clear lakes and streams running through limestone rocks. Within these limestone layers, miles and miles of rock have been excavated to provide underground galleries for the housing and cellaring of bubbly.

Along a thousand miles of waterways and lakes, you may drift via boat through an ever-changing view of nature, observing migratory birds and animals who have made their habitat along the banks.

On the ground and off the main road are numerous discoveries awaiting the visitor: the basilica of l'Epine, the Reims cathedral, where the kings of France used to be crowned, the Sedan castle, the fortified city of Langres, the 16th century houses at Troyes, the many wooden facade churches in the Champagne bocage, the Meuse Valley, the Triangle Sacré du Champagne, Sporting visitors will find easy access to golf, horse riding and sail boarding.
